• Create a list of your items.

When placing a lot of items in storage, it’s difficult to remember all of them, especially your smaller items. To keep everything in check, you’re going to need a record of all items stored inside the storage. As you begin packing, Note down all the items included in each box to create a master list that will help you later on when looking for a specific item. Take photos of stored items to remember what’s in your storage. You could also create a map indicating where your belongings are located inside the storage unit.

• Store your items inside clear bins instead of cardboard boxes and use just one box size.

• Store large and heavy items on the bottom, towards the back.

If you are placing large and heavy items in your storage, place them towards the back of the storage and on the bottom. This creates a stable base for lighter items and greatly reduces the risk of damaged items.
